The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, participated this morning in Istanbul in the opening session of the 51st meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The opening ceremony witnessed the Republic of Turkey assuming the chairmanship of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, succeeding the Republic of Cameroon. This session was notably marked by the participation of the President of the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who delivered a speech on this occasion.

It is worth noting that the proceedings of this two-day session will include a special session dedicated to the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to discussions on the most pressing current issues in the Islamic world — foremost among them the Palestinian cause, which continues to face escalating challenges amid the ongoing genocidal war against the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
