The Embassy of Algeria to Finland commemorates the National Day of of Memory marking the May 8, 1945 massacres

The Embassy of Algeria to Finland commemorated today the National Day of Memory, observed on May 8. The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha in tribute to the souls of the martyrs, and a minute of silence in honor of the victims of the May 8, 1945 massacres and the noble martyrs of the nation.

On this occasion, His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Bourouba delivered a speech in which he emphasized that marking this anniversary represents a moment to recall the immense sacrifices made by the Algerian people in confronting the crimes of French colonialism. He also highlighted the unwavering commitment to preserving and safeguarding national memory, in loyalty to the blood of the martyrs and in renewal of the pledge to protect this historical legacy for future generations.
