The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received today at the Ministry's headquarters the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium, Mr. Hadja Lahbib, who is on an official visit to Algeria.

On this occasion, the Minister of State held a one-on-one meeting with his Belgian counterpart, followed by an expanded working session with the participation of members of both delegations.

These discussions provided an opportunity to review the state of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and explore ways to elevate them to higher levels that match their vast potential.

In this regard, both parties agreed on the need to take concrete steps to inject new momentum into bilateral cooperation, particularly by revitalizing follow-up mechanisms, reviewing the legal framework, and encouraging interaction between business communities to seize partnership opportunities in economic fields such as renewable energy, transport, mining, agri-food industries, and pharmaceuticals.

At the multilateral level, the two ministers discussed the partnership between Algeria and the European Union, as well as joint efforts to promote peace, security, and sustainable development in the Euro-Mediterranean space.

They also exchanged views and analyses on several current international and regional issues, notably the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, the situation in the Sahel region, and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
